Hotel St. Olav was the first building finished at the new university hospital, St. Olavs Hospital, in Trondheim. It was completed in autumn 2004 and awarded Trondheim Municipality’s Byggeskikkpris (an award for good building and environmental design) in 2007.
Nearby is Nidelven with its riverside walk, which takes you all the way to Trondheim Spektrum in one direction and to Bakklandet, Bybroen and Lykkens Portal in the other. The old part of the city is bustling with life with many shops in a cosy atmosphere. On the other side of the river is Nidaros Cathedral.
It is just a 10-minute walk to the city centre, and there is a good bus service to Torget, Solsiden, IKEA and City Syd. You will find excellent shopping, the SPA-centre and many indoor and outdoor activities here.
Should you be tempted to go for walk in the woods, there are also bus connections to Bymarka, Lade and Estenstadmarka. Lerkendal Stadium with its football matches is a 10-15-minute walk from the hotel. Grocery stores, pharmacies, hairdressers and convenience stores are also nearby.
